Road Editing Module

Complex customization work for easy editing of road networks based on spline curves. This customization work was done for a flight simulator and later used on various other projects.

Novel GPGPU computation for terrain leveling by road surfaces. Harness the power of modern video cards processors to do the road placing and terrain surface leveling in real-time.



Easy to use mouse 3D gizmos to:

- Insert, delete or move road network control points

- Change road width, banking, left and right influences over terrain

- Complex selection support at point, spline or entire network level


Possibility to mark parts of segments as invisible or bridges.



Complex road material system that allows multitexturing, pixel lighting effects and links to terrain layers for coloring and lightmapping.

Control texture mapping (rotation, tiling, spinning) per edge or per entire network.
Automatic crossroads. Road intersections tessellation and texturing with minimal effort. Possibility to use custom textures on various parts of cross-roads.

SDK support to export road layers geometry, splines and their parameters.
