Hi!
First I'd like to say that I just started working with Grome, and i really love it. I's flexible, easy to use and it takes virtually no time to go from nothing to a beautiful landscape. Cudos!

About the roads. I have a hard time adjusting them to my hightmaps.
I can see in the banner at quadsoft.com that its possible to have the hightmaps adjust themselves to roads, but i can't seem to find that feature in Crome? Am i just blind or is that feature not implemented yet?

Hi,

I am glad to hear that you like our program Smile

In order to have your heightmap automatically adjusted by your roads you need to assign a road layer (from layer view: add the layer and assign it to your selected terrain zones). At assignment you are asked to select the road entity which affects this layer. After this you can modify your road and the terrain is affected in real time (it is even using the power of your video card for updates so real-time frames are achieved for updates).

You can find screenshots and a more detailed description of the above steps from the Grome help. Open the Grome help and goto World Editing -> Spline Objects -> Road Networks -> Tutorials -> Roads Quick Tutorial. There you have a section called "Linking the road entity to the terrain surface" which describes the exact steps.

You can control how much the roads affect the terrain around from the Influence entry in the tool (or by dragging with the mouse from the specific gizmos as described in the help).

Let me know if you have any issues.

Kind Regards,
Adrian L.

Somehow, i have missed the tutorial section in the Grome help, so thanks for that tip as well!
