Hiya.

Just a request, really. I've asked on the Unity3D forums ( http://forum.unity3d.com/ ) under the "External Tools" forum, if anyone there had created a plugin for getting GROME II goodness into Unity3d happiness. Alas, after over 50 views, not one reply (other than my own Smile ). I'm guessing that there is a desire for it, but nobody has the skill or time to do it.

With Unity 3 just around the corner, and Unity now boasting over 100,000 users...Unity may be the next "Supported Game Engine". I have had some success using a simple height map into Unity with a simple texture map, but it would be nice to get other good stuff into it as well. Smile

^_^

Hi Paul,

Did you try to get the Graphite binary build (it is in the Grome client download page) and made it integrated into Unity? Graphite library was designed to be integrated into any engine and supports all the Grome features (including multiple textures).

Regards,
Adrian

Just a quick update. We will launch shortly a series of tutorials how to use Grome with Unity3D to create terrain for desktop applications and mobiles (IPhone, Android). Everyone interested on this please send us an email to contact at quadsoftware.com and we can send you all the detailed information.

Kind Regards,
Adrian L.

Hi,
Is the invitation still open, now that you have announced the support for Unity with the 3.1 release ?
Should I wait for the release of the exporter or should I send a mail?

What will the exporter support?
When will it become available?

By the way, great timing, as I just wanted to start my own Unity Exporter / Unity Integration scripts. I am eager to get it!

Hi,

The tutorials will be ready next week. I will make sure everyone is announced.

The entire procedure spreads on 6 tutorials and show how to create a scene in Grome, optimize it before export, export via Collada, import in Unity editor, apply LOD, material and then publish. They are mostly designed for mobile platforms (the last part demonstrate how to run the terrain on iPhone) but the same techniques can be used for desktops and consoles.

Kind Regards,
Adrian L
