Just wondering if there is new development underway for Grome. The last News & Announcements is 6 months old. If there is new development, what major features are in the works and what's the expected timeframe?

I have been looking at all of the tools in this class and like Grome the most.

The ability to create roads is the one big thing that I'm missing. According to some forum posts, it's not (readily) possible with the public tools. Am I missing something?

Hi,

We are planning the next Grome version with lots of updates in few months time (under 4 months). We don't know yet if it will be labeled as 2.x or 3.0 (there are quite new features that will make sense for us to jump to 3.0). If the version will be 3.0, the cost of upgrade will be very small (smaller than the current upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0) and people who purchased Grome recently will have free upgrade.

The new updates refer to easy management of data (splitting, merging of zones, easy copy of heightmaps, change resolutions), support for new formats, new rendering methods, new tools and yes, we are pushing so we have the road tools ready for the public in this version. We also plan to have an intermediary build available for interested clients until the final one is ready. You can also drop us an email (contact at quadsoftware.com) and present your project, maybe we can offer you specific details and suggestions that can match your exact needs.

Best Regards,
Adrian L.
