Hi!

Currently, as far as I can tell, there is no possibility to specify anything else but a matrix transform for an object. I think it is vital that there be some way to attach user-defined properties to the placed meshes.

In the simplest case, this would be just a collection of name-value string pairs, editable in a simple table. The storage plugin could set default values when loading an object, which the user then can change and the export plugin can read and act upon.

A more comfortable way would be to have different primitive datatypes, which can have their range / possible values specified, so the user can chose from a listbox (e.g. true/false for a boolean, or different values from an enumeration), or change values via a slider.

Without this feature, the flexibility of the tool is severly limited in my opinion.
