I have trouble playing the mp4-tutorials...just sound.
I can play other mp4-files.
Anyone experiencing the same? |

Hi,
Did you tried to open the files in MediaPlayer? For me, by default, it tries to open it with a audio only player. You can try to rename the extension to AVI.
They are coded with H.264/MPEG-4 codec. You should have that codec installed. |

I´ve tried to open the files with Quicktime 7, Windows Mediaplayer 10, VirtualDub, VLC-player, WinAmp, Adobe AfterEffects...and still just sound.
I installed the codec you link to...but with no difference.
I´ll get back here if I solve it... |

Sorry guys thats my fault, the audio is mp3, (mpga, lame) and the video codec is MP4 (MPEG4 X264) so the latest QuickTime should run it fine.
If your still having problems will rencode again in another format.
(perhaps also try Quicktime Alternative) |

Hi, what operating system do you have?
I have vista and installed the FFDShow (link provided in a previous post) and the movies are working in media player.
Can you determine if you have a MPEG4 codec installed? In vista you do the following (taken from a Microsoft FAQ):
If you need to see a list of the Windows Media Player components and codecs installed on your computer, do the following:
1.
On the Help menu, click About Windows Media Player.
If the Help menu is not visible, show the Classic Menus.
2.
On the About Windows Media Player dialog box, click Technical Support Information.
Your web browser will open a page that includes information about the related binary files, codecs, filters, plug-ins, and services installed on your computer. A technical support person might be able to use this detailed information to help you troubleshoot problems on your computer. |

How can I get the computer to recongize my mp4 player? I just received a new-in-box mp4 player I bought off ebay. I was able to power up and charge the battery, but now I want to put music on it and the computers I have used won't recongize it. For instance, when I plug it in to the usb port, nothing happens. What do I do?

| It really depends on your mp4 player model. You should check the manual or the vendor support. |

If it does manage to detect it then you should be able to access it like any other memory card through your file explorer. Perhaps posting on a specific forum for mp4 players, or contact the manufacture for better advice |
