We are exporting Terrains made with grome and creating a planet. We export to a text file and we need to know what the coordinates are based on so we can match that to our game engine. Please help, DL out.

Grome coordinate system (in both editing and in the SDK data) is similar with that of DirectX: left handed, OX to the left, OY up and OZ towards the screen (this is documented somewhere in the SDK help).

You can easily change the coordinate system when exporting (just look at the source code of the text or collada exporter for details, there you have transformation functions for translation, rotations or matrices). Many default exporters also let you choose the coordinate system: left or right handed and the orientation of axes.

Adrian L.
